Why modes matter

Electric skateboards without granular modes either feel tame or dangerously sharp. Mellow shipped four riding modes documented in period materials — documented as Rookie, Eco, Pro, and Endless. Each mapped throttle response, acceleration caps, and top speed within the published 40 km/h maximum.

Eco prioritised range and gentle acceleration for commuting. Rookie softened response for new riders learning remote modulation. Pro unlocked performance for experienced riders on suitable terrain. Endless mode assumed experienced riders and compliance with local speed limits.

Mode selection in practice

Switching modes via the handheld remote was intended to be ride-safe — typically while moving at moderate speed or stopped, per owner guidance. Mode changes altered not only top speed but also how aggressively regeneration engaged, affecting downhill behaviour.

Historical documentation note

Exact mode names and LED indicators may differ between firmware revisions and remote hardware generations. Treat this page as conceptual documentation aligned with launch-era public materials rather than a substitute for a specific serial number's manual if you operate legacy hardware.
